I hate mechanics

I went to the mechanics today since my brakes were well past the i need changing point. Of course i get a list back from them letting me know that i also need ten more things fixed that i had no idea of and it will only cost me two grand for both parts and labor. Yeah cause it's so easy to drop two grand at anytime now a days. grrr. do i wait a little longer and risk having to "replace my engine" as the mechs say? because of course that's what will happen. they quoted me 200- 500 for my brakes and they would be done by noon. So you can imagine my surprise when i got a call at THREE letting me know my car was finally ready for the low unquoted price of SIX hundred. i swear i'm going to mechs school, i could use the dishonest money i would steal from unsuspecting women with 3 kids.
